Angama Mara is an owner-run lodge positioned high on the edge of the Oloololo Escarpment. Its Swahili name translates to “suspended in mid-air,” a reference to its spectacular perch one thousand feet above the plains of the Mara Triangle. The lodge comprises two separate, intimate camps, North and South, which ensure a quiet atmosphere and a high degree of personal service.
Known for its elegant, contemporary design and iconic views, Angama offers a refined interpretation of the luxury safari experience. It is notably built near the site where scenes from the film Out of Africa were shot, adding a layer of romantic history to its character.
