The experience
City time is usually treated as filler at the start or end of a safari. It does not have to be. Nairobi combines a national park on its doorstep with the Sheldrick elephant orphanage, Giraffe Centre and the Karen Blixen house. Mombasa has Fort Jesus and an old town worth walking slowly. Kigali is compact, green and best understood on foot.
