About This Lodge

Emayian Luxury Camp offers a refined, boutique experience situated on an escarpment overlooking the vast plains of the Masai Mara. The camp is designed to provide a sense of elevation and space, moving away from the traditional enclosed bush feel to offer expansive views of the reserve. The atmosphere is quietly luxurious and calm, focusing on a personal connection between the guest and the landscape.

It serves as a sophisticated retreat that balances the raw energy of the Mara with a grounded, contemporary comfort. This property is ideal for those who appreciate a steady, unhurried pace where the focus remains on the quality of the stay and the surrounding environment. It promises a stay that is both authentic to its African roots and elevated in its delivery of hospitality.

Location & Setting

The camp is perched on the Ololaimutiek hills, providing a unique vantage point over the eastern edge of the Masai Mara. Its geography is defined by the elevation, which ensures a cooler breeze and a panoramic perspective of the acacia-dotted savannah below.

Access is convenient via the Ololaimutiek Gate, which is only a few minutes’ drive away, making it easy to transition from the quiet of the camp to the active wildlife zones. The setting is characterized by rocky outcrops and indigenous scrub, offering a sense of seclusion and privacy while remaining well-connected to the main park circuits by road or flight into the nearby Keekorok airstrip.

Accommodation

Emayian features twelve spacious tents set on raised stone and wooden platforms to maximize the views. The design is a blend of canvas and modern structural elements, featuring large glass windows that bring the outside in. Each tent is an expansive suite with a private deck that includes a sunken outdoor whirlpool, allowing guests to soak while watching the sunset over the reserve.

The interiors use soft earth tones and natural textures, creating a warm and grounded environment. Sensory details like the sound of the wind through the valley and the feel of high-quality linens provide a deep sense of relaxation and privacy.

Facilities & Experiences

The common areas are centered around a large deck and dining area that flows into the landscape. A signature experience is the outdoor sundowner deck, where guests gather as the light shifts across the plains. The camp provides a personalized service style that feels attentive yet unobtrusive, catering to a quiet and intimate lodge life.

Dining is an open-air affair, emphasizing fresh local flavors served against the backdrop of the hills. For relaxation, the communal lounge offers a library and comfortable seating, while the overall layout encourages guests to wander and find their own quiet corners for reflection.
