The experience
Explore the Mara Triangle on guided game drives, following the changing activity of wildlife across the landscape. Build time in your safari for observation, photography and the quieter details between sightings.
A game drive gives you time to read a landscape as it changes: animals moving between cover and water, birds working the grassland, and tracks that lead your guide towards the next stop. A productive drive is as much about patient observation as a list of species.
The published Angama Mara fly-in programme includes guided drives in the Mara Triangle. Other JohnBow routes place game drives in Amboseli, Samburu and Tsavo, so the setting can change substantially over a single journey.

What to expect
Use the itinerary to understand which areas you visit and how the drives fit around transfers and time at camp.
Photography, bird watching and general wildlife viewing can call for a different pace. Discuss your priorities before selecting a route and accommodation.
Wild animals move freely. A route can place you in good habitat, but no particular sighting or encounter can be promised.
Who it suits
- Travellers choosing an activity around their actual destination and route

Timing and arrangements
Choose the season in the context of the destinations you will visit, rather than treating all of Kenya as one wildlife area. Our Kenya timing guide explains the wider planning choices. Ask how the daily programme works at your selected camp or lodge.
How long to allow: As scheduled in the chosen itinerary
