About This Lodge

Tawi Lodge is a distinctive property situated on a private conservancy adjacent to Amboseli National Park. The lodge architecture combines rustic stone and wood with subtle contemporary styling, providing a cozy and intimate experience. Its strategic position offers a clear, uninterrupted view of Mount Kilimanjaro and overlooks a high-traffic waterhole, ensuring constant wildlife viewing opportunities from the main deck.

Location & Setting

The lodge is situated within the 3,000-acre Tawi Conservancy, located just outside the eastern boundary of Amboseli. This location is vital as it sits directly in the natural migration corridor used by elephants traveling between the Amboseli ecosystem and the distant Chyulu Hills. Being close to the Kimana Gate allows for quick access to the national park for day drives.

Accommodation

Tawi Lodge features thirteen spacious, individually designed guest suites, spread out to maximize privacy and offer a stunning view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Each suite is designed with stone foundations and a canvas roof, offering a comfortable blend of luxury and safari tradition.

Interiors include a four-poster bed, a large en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, a private deck, and a fireplace. One suite has been adapted for guests requiring wheelchair access.

Facilities & Experiences

The main lodge building features a comfortable lounge with a fireplace, a dedicated dining room, and an upstairs sitting area with a viewing deck. An outdoor swimming pool and sunbeds are positioned to overlook the natural waterhole below. For relaxation, guests can visit the safari spa, which includes a hot tub. Low-impact activities are available using the lodge’s solar-powered Tuk-tuk for short internal transfers.
